About Life Without Limits

We are a family-governed collective of eight like-minded families who have come together with a  commitment to  assuring that our adult children with intellectual and developmental disabilities, whom we refer to as “self advocates,” have the opportunities and support to live healthy, safe, professional and community based lives of their choosing.

The investment of thousands of hours of collaboration, advocacy and work has saved funding for our government and our self advocates and more importantly, this investment has improved the quality of lives of our self-advocates.

We are committed to the long-term health and sustainability of our organization and creating  sustainable lives for our self-advocates will flourish long after parents are gone and our ‘next in line’ Guardians assume their supporting roles.

Mission Statement

The purpose of Life Without Limits is to help our Self Advocates have the same lives they would have if they were not disabled. This includes:

1. Living independently in the community

2. Working in the community and or volunteering

3. Being safe

4. Having the best possible health, physical and emotional

5. Self directing their supports through a commitment to person-centered goals and preferences with the help of supported decision-making supports as appropriate

6. Reciprocal and meaningful relationships with people important to them

7. Inclusion in their community
